A MID-SIZE F3A MODEL
Completed project
This is a model I constructed in 2006-2007. At that time I was active in F3A competition, using methanol engines and wanted to try electric. Electric propulsion systems for this type of models were still relatively expensive so I decided to construct a slightly smaller model to keep cost acceptable. Wingspan is 1544mm, length 1663mm and flying weight around 2800 gram.
Construction is all wood. Finish is with transparent Oracover, except for the front half of the fuselage. This is covered with 50 g/m² glass fabric and epoxy. The canopy is vacuumformed over a gipsum plug.
